TED/ A life lesson from a volunteer firefigther
Back in New York, Mark Bezos is the head of development for a non-profit activity called "Robin Hood", and the assistant captain of a volunteer firefighter company as well. At the video, he was explaining one of his experiences as a volunteer firefighter. Some night, his group got called to head to a house which was burning, and it was his first time in action. When he arrived, he saw the captain talking to the homeowner, but unfortunately, he was the second volunteer to arrive so, the first one got the job to save the homeowner's dog, and Mark, to get her a pair of shoes and meanwhile, the "real firefighters" were already putting down the fire. When he got out of the house with the pair of shoes, his team mate got out with the dog, and not surprisingly, the guy with the dog received much more attention, but Mark didn't care a lot about it, because he was still helping on his way, and he was doing something he liked for free, just to get as a reward the happiness of the others.
